PiperLongbotham was born in Inverness, in the Highlands of Scotland, and brought up in the small town of Alness in Ross-Shire.

A keen salmon fisherman, wakeboarder and skier, PiperLongbotham joined the R.E.M.E. in the British Army, and served in various theatres abroad.

Here Piperlongbotham learned to play the bagpipes, with the Princess Marina College Pipes and Drums; and performed in various locations across the world.

Settling down in Gloucester after time served in Germany, PiperLongbotham has been in the Gloucestershire area for  the last 12 years.
